Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Solar Energy Initiative Thousand Oaks, California
The City of Thousand Oaks has been investigating schemes for solar energy for the Civic Center which includes theaters and City Hall functions. Kaplan Chen Kaplan was asked to create schemes for installation of a solar panel system on the existing Civic Center parking structure as well as our own design for a nearby surface parking area. We provided a variety schemes, based on research of technology as well as the specific locations. The City has continued to investigate alternate systems including a solar panel array for the public library.
