Conservation Assessment Program Mackey Apartments, Chinese American Museum

The Heritage Conservation Assessor Program provides museums and collection based institutions, housed in historic structures, funding for a conservation professional to prepare a condition assessment report and recommendations for treatment. Kaplan Chen Kaplan has prepared a CAP report for the Mackey Apartments, a building designed by Rudolph Schindler and operated by the MAK Center at the Schindler House and the Chinese American Museum, located in a early 20th century brick masonry building adjacent to Olvera Street and the Plaza in Los Angeles. Reports were also used to formulate long and short term strategies and prioritize future projects.
