Widney Hall (Alumni House) Relocation University of Southern California

The original house dates to nineteenth century origins of University Southern California, serving as one of the first classroom buildings. The structure had been moved twice previously, to accommodate growing needs and changing campus planning and street patterns. The latest siting aligns with a new campus entry and a chain of courts and major campus buildings replacing Hoover Avenue. Kaplan Chen Kaplan served as Historic Architect and coordinated procedures for protecting existing building and guidelines for re-siting at new location. Code negotiations included fire code and accessibility requirements at the new site. We have provided ongoing services for upgrades and repairs including new bathrooms, compatible to the original building.
